The website deployment process can feel overwhelming, but I'm here to guide you through this process making it as straightforward as possible.

Our initial steps involve selecting a domain name and determining the hosting location for the website. Next, we follow the 4Ds of website development: Discovery, Design, Development, and Deployment. Following this process we create the content, design a customized layout, then deploy the site.

Following deployment, managing software updates and security patches becomes essential. Although I provide support plans for these tasks, if you prefer self-management, that's encouraged. I'll be here if you have any questions.

Domain Name

The domain name is a unique address (or URL) that is used to find your website on the internet, without it users can't visit your website. A domain name is included for the first year on all new projects, some restrictions apply.

Website Hosting

Websites are hosted on servers owned and operated by InMotion, a privately-owned technology company, established in 2001 that specializes in web hosting services. To keep your business running smoothly, each project includes a free SSL, malware detection, and DDoS protection. Website hosting is included for the first year on all new projects.

Content Management System

A Content Management System (CMS) is software that allows you the ability to edit the content that is displayed on your website. I use Kirby CMS, it is easy for clients to use, and offers me the customization necessary and meets the demands of various website projects.

Privacy Policies

For clients that collect Personal Identifiable Information (PII), I recommend they include a privacy policy on their website. I have partnered with Termageddon, a website policy generating service, and they offer website policies to help you comply with privacy laws, customer protection laws, disclosures, and limit your liability.

Analytics Software

Clients that are interested in analytics, digital privacy in must be kept in mind. I have partnered with Fathom Analytics and recommend their services as they have earned the trust of thousands of companies, from small businesses to Fortune 100s. Fathom Analytics is a privacy-first, GDPR-compliant, and cookie free website analytics software.

Support Plans

Now that your website has been deployed, ongoing maintenance is essential. Keeping up-to-date with content, software updates and security patches, not only demonstrates the relevance and usefulness of your content, it reduces possible vulnerabilities.

Support levels will vary depending on your technical needs and requirements. Some clients choose to manage website content, updates and patches themselves, while others prefer paying to have this work completed. I offer Basic, Essential, and Premium plans to new clients with the option to add additional support as needed. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
